I created this blog to document my spring abroad in Yungaburra, Australia (in Queensland). Contrary to popular belief, Australia is not just one vast desert. There is much more than just the Outback. I will be in a rural area in the rainforest and am not even sure if I'll have the internet privileges to continue this blog once I arrive. Assuming I can, I will try and update it weekly.
Despite the fact that I will be in a rainforest, I have been advised that Queensland has the highest skin cancer risk in the world. Since I am already bad about preventing burns and since my skin is embarrassingly white, I may take more caution against the sun than against the poisonous snakes and crocodiles.
Whatever I encounter, I hope to have the time and internet availability to update this blog at least weekly. I arrive in Cairns the 28th of January. Just one week!
